One of the most gratifying elements of our work here is the privilege of seeing people who have not only broken free from the misery of addiction, but who have gone on to live full lives. We are constantly impressed by the progress people make in terms of education, training and employment. That journey begins at Park View, chiefly at our secondary unit, but it is their courage and determination to pursue difficult goals after move on that is most inspiring.
As a result, a very pleasing number of our ex-clients have began whole new careers, returned to old ones or are still involved in the education and training required in order to work. Our clients often face significant barriers to work, but the very things that can be problematic for our clients in the pursuit of employment, can be turned into assets if that employment is within the drug and alcohol field. Below are some of the responses we received when we asked for quotes from some of our ex-clients who are working in and around Liverpool in the drug and alcohol field.
Park
View made me feel really safe and secure. My life has completely changed.
LS (Genie In The Gutter)
I found that there was an awful lot more on offer
than just overcoming my addiction. I now have a whole new way of living
my life.
TR (Chapter 1, Mildmay House)
I came to Park View from prison in 2003 and I’ve
been working with homeless substance misusers since 2005. The best thing
I ever did was get clean and sober.
D Mc. (Basement)
I can’t believe how much I’ve achieved
since my stay at Park View in 03. I love giving to people what was given
to me.
GG (Arch)
It was as though the staff could see into my head.
They knew me more than I knew myself.
GL (Arch)
I knew I was part of something special when I went
to Park View in 2004, but it’s amazing to see how many people are
still clean and getting on with their lives. Brilliant. Every city should
have one.
GG (Social Partnership)
Park
View saved my life.
TC (Community Outreach)
For me, it was a case of live or die. It is a moral
crime that the 12 Step solution is not offered to all those who suffer
from this life threatening condition.
VF (Park View)
In 2004 Park View planted the seeds that I’ve
been nurturing ever since.
SA (TTP)
I came to Park View in 05 just wanting to stay
off drugs, but I’ve ended up with a lot more. Great job in the drug
and alcohol field, lovely wife, lovely baby!
LH (Summergrove)
I spent years and years in and out of jail until
I came to Park View. Now, four years later, I’m free, responsible
and happy.
JF (Arch)
When I came to Park View Project straight from
jail, I thought I would only be here a few weeks. But that was 5 years
ago and now I work here.
CM (Park View)
I
can hardly believe the last three and a half years. Mum looks ten years
younger and my daughter has turned into a happy little girl. Thank you
Park View. x

I don’t know what I would have done without
Park View and the fellowship. I got a great service at Park View and my
life has changed so much.
J Mc (TTP)
I have discovered a completely new way of life
since coming into Park View in 2004.
LL (Park View)
Park View made me feel really safe and secure.
My life has completely changed.
LS (Genie In The Gutter)
I came out of jail and into Park View in 2004.
To be where I am today seems like a miracle.
GP (Park View)
If
there were more places like Park View there would be more people like
me, in recovery and giving back.
RB (Social Partnership)
Park View helped me to regain my purpose in life.
MD (Basement)
Park View were there for me when I wasn’t
able to be there for myself.
MS (Social Partnership)
I will be eternally grateful to Park View for giving
not just me , but those who love me peace of mind. Today I am free to
do God’s work, not his job!
TB (Newby Lodge)
Getting off drugs is easy compared to staying off
them. For 20 years I could never do that until I came to Park View and
got introduced to NA.
BR (Park View)
Thanks
to Park View and the fellowships, I am now 2 years clean and working in
a drug service in Liverpool. Unbelievable! I’m happier than I was
even before I got addicted to drugs.
ER (Genie In The Gutter)
Old scouse proverb: Go to Park View and get it
sorted!

I’m on the journey of a life time. No day
is the same but they’re all better than they used to be.
BL (Basement)
Park View gave me a whole new foundation for my
life.
