All key workers are qualified to a minimum standard NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. Others are also qualified counsellors and others are working towards that qualification voluntarily and are funded through the Park View training budget. Key workers, support workers, resettlement staff and managerial staff regularly participate in a whole array of courses provided by Liverpool Supporting People around quality such as: Advanced Assessment and Support Planning, QAF: Building Excellent Services, Service User Involvement, Equality and Diversity, Effective Resettlement, Overcoming Worklessness. Our staff also regularly attend the Supporting People Training around risk management; courses include: Adult and Child Safeguarding, Professional Boundaries and Drug Use and Homelessness.
All therapeutic staff have also been trained in the International treatment Effectiveness Programme (ITEP), which is a series of excellent mapping tools that key workers and clients can use to clearly define problems and solutions and thus formulate concise actions plans during the key working sessions.
We attempt always to maintain a fair balance of male an female staff to cater for a mixed client group and all staff also undergo regular managerial and clinical supervision, on a one to one and group basis, internally, and via highly qualified external sources.
